The University of Illinois, Chicago Jane Addams Center for Social Policy And Research Behavioral Health Crisis Hub, in partnership with the Illinois Division of Mental Health (DMH), has designed the Web-based Training Materials Catalog to give you access to all the training presentations developed for Community Emergency Supports and Services Act (CESSA) crisis responders. Everyone can explore training content on various mental health and suicide topics in our Training Catalog.

Our Training Materials Catalog contains most of the training presentations, including all the web-based presentations that are part of the training curriculums for Illinois 988 Suicide and Lifeline Crisis Operators/Counselors, Mental Health (Program 590) Mobile Crisis Response Teams, and 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Telecommunicators. The trainings are designed to complement agency-specific training and to provide new and experienced DMH responders and 911 dispatchers (telecommunicators) with standardized crisis training that respects the dignity of individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and prepares behavioral health professionals to offer crisis-informed services to assess, de-escalate, and provide referrals to address individuals mental health needs.

We are currently developing new training content on various topics. Be sure to check back periodically for additional training materials.

  • 15 + Online trainings since launching in March 2023.

  • > 1,000 Individuals attended online trainings.

  • > 300 Hours of Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) completed by training attendees.
