Responsibilities:
Brenda Hampton is a Visiting Senior Research Specialist and Director of Community Linkages for the UIC Behavioral Health Crisis Hub at the Jane Addams Center for Social Policy and Research, where she is responsible for the implementation of local planning for CESSA through oversight of four Regional Advisory Committees; assessing the readiness and implementation of IDHS-DMH contracted Program 590 Mobile Crisis Response Teams; and fostering interface relationships with community-based partners in the larger statewide mental health and behavioral health crisis continuum of care.
Biography:
Ms. Hampton has extensive experience in community mental health as a clinician and former administrator. She spent over 30 years as a Senior Public Service Administrator with the State of Illinois, IDHS-DMH in varying positions including Policy and Planning, Geriatric Services, as the state’s project coordinator for the Federal PATH Programs (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness), as DMH Region 1 Executive Director, Superintendent of Tinley Park Mental Health Center, and as the Deputy Director of Systems Rebalancing/project lead for the Williams vs Pritzker class action lawsuit-consent Decree.
